The company offers many different varieties of sticks for all ages. They have all the basic colors you need and the company is also fast with their deliveries even during the Covid days. Whether your in grade school or high school this is the stick/company I recommend. Even if you just want to enhance your snare playing, or just focus on rudiments, this is a perfect tool for that. It is also great for warming up before a show. I threw one of these on a Ludwig Acrolite and I liked the feel and sound.
Now I actually play my drums and keep my chops and tactile feel in good working order. I use the Remo Silent Stroke heads on an SPL street bop kit with the PDP Z5 hardware pack and an extra cymbal stand. Working as a coach now, my weapon of choice is the Mark 2A with Type 4s. This combination provides superior ball feel and control, without sacrificing accuracy or shot speed. In my opinion, the Mark 2A is not only Stringking’s best head but the best head on the market.

It can hit the ball hard and crisp, without question.
For snare drums, I suspect this would work better for wood than for metal (I haven’t tried it on metal, but it works amazingly well on the cheap wooden snare I put the head on). If you’ve got a kit you can dedicate to practice, these heads are the way to go. SP overlay your heads, and so can be put on and taken off in a snap, but they all have the same feel.

These heads work exceptionally well for practicing on an acoustic kit. However tuning with these heads requires a very different approach from tuning drums with batter heads. Remo is now offering a new line of single ply mesh drumheads for quiet practice applications. The single ply mesh material features a soft spring like feel at very low decibel levels.
With so many good designed mesh houses on the market it can be hard to find or even know where to look. Owing to c0st and the ability to tension, the Remos are “better,” but are best used with a dedicated practice kit. Vespertine offers you a wide range of 100% original mesh products like eclectic home and garden decor, prefabs and furniture. The region also has various peaceful spots for relaxing or photography. Ultimately, only time will tell if mesh heads will make a comeback, but there is certainly potential for them to do so. Make sure to use valve guide style push rods. They require 3/4″ reach mid jeat range plugs.
I started using StringKing lacrosse sticks in the 7th grade. I’m now a junior in high school and still love the stick and the company. The company is very fair and genuine if my head or shaft breaks within 6 months of use. From financial assistance to support groups and entertainment, and even free housing during treatment, they make lives easier for all those affected by cancer. While they do not feel exactly like a “real” drum head, you can have relative tension between the heads. These heads, however, are a semi-permanent modification.
Devold Wool Mesh is perfect for mountaintop tours in the winter, when the focus is on temperature regulation and low weight. Bought scope and tripod rig for rimfire shooting at 100 yds. Scope all that could be asked for at the price.
All that hooie being said, these heads also have their limitations. Playing on a regular acoustic set is best, if and when you can do it. Dynamics are an important part of drumming and playing on a real kit is the only way to hone that in. Textured LTH fibers provide a more enhanced feel for the ball while decreasing the overall weight of the mesh. The Striker option features two stripes down the middle of the mesh, while the Storm option pushes the color strip to the outside. Could I ask what prim-count and/or land impact the house you chose has?
StringKing did a great job with both the Mark 2F head and Type 4F mesh. The good news is, the kit itself doesn’t matter, and it would be a share to put these on, say, a Gretsch Broadkaster, or a Pearl Session Studio Classic. Relative pitch is produced by the resonant head by vibration traveling through the shell.
